Mark Rossi is admitted to practice before the Supreme Judicial Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He represents individual and commercial debtors, secured and unsecured creditors and court appointed trustees in bankruptcy and state law contexts. Mr. Rossi was an Adjunct Professor at the New England School of law teaching bankruptcy law and creditor rights. He has significant experience representing individuals and businesses regarding secured and unsecured creditors, creditors’ committees, and court appointed trustees in bankruptcy matters.

Representative Matters

  • Researched, drafted and successfully argued Trustee’s Motion for Summary Judgment concerning an issue of first impression in this jurisdiction relating to unrecorded mortgage.  The decision was affirmed in In re Sullivan, 2008 WL 1991483, *1 (B.A.P. 1st Cir. May 9, 2008).
  • As counsel to Chapter 7 debtor, researched and drafted Motion for Summary Judgment on issue of first impression in the country relating to domestic support obligations. See In re Schwartz, 376 B.R. 364 (Bankr. D. Mass. 2007).
  • As Chapter 7 Trustee’s counsel, commenced and successfully tried preferential transfer avoidance proceeding against a major trade creditor.  The decision was affirmed in In re Reale, 2008 WL 4192043, *1 (B.A.P. 1st Cir. August 14, 2008).

  • Administered the Boston Bar Association’s Pro Se Debtor Reaffirmation Clinic in conjunction with the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts.
  • Researched and designed new webpage for pro se debtors and worked closely with the Bankruptcy Court Clerk and Judges to coordinate its launch. See www.mab.uscourts.gov/mab/node/64.
